Quake Near French Pass

A magnitude 4.8 earthquake struck off-shore 30 km north of French Pass, 100 km north-west of Wellington, at 5:35 this morning, Tuesday 23rd October 2007. The quake was 110 km deep, and was felt in the Nelson, Marlborough and Wellington regions, at Karamea on the West Coast and as far north as Palmerston North and New Plymouth.
