Another Strong Quake, Santa Cruz Ialnds

Another strong earthquake has struck the Santa Cruz Islands this evening, New Zealand time.

The magnitude 6.3 earthquake which struck at 11:01 p.m. on Saturday the 19th of July 2008 New Zealand Standard Time was located 155 km west-south-west of Lata in the Santa Cruz Islands (525 km east-south-east of the Solomon Islands capital Honiara) at a depth of 43 km.

The earthquake follows a magnitude 6.7 quake at 9:27 p.m. NZST and a magnitude 5.6 event at 9:34 p.m. Both of which were located 150 km west-south-west of Lata in the Santa Cruz Islands.
