Kermadec Quake

A moderately strong earthquake struck the Kermadec Islands late this evening, New Zealand time.

Preliminary data shows that the magnitude 5.1 quake, which struck at 10:34 p.m. on Saturday the 30th of August 2008, was located 75 km north-east of Raoul Island at a depth of 50 km.
