Quake Claims Pass $5 Million

Claims from the magnitude 7.6 Dusky Sound earthquake have passed the $5 million mark.

Disaster insurer EQC has received claims totalling nearly $5.6 million following the July 15th earthquake in Dusky Sound. Eleven hundred claims totalling $2 million have been lodged from Invercargill, with another 600 for damage of $980,000 coming from the rest of Southland. 463 claims $725,000 in damage have been lodged from the Queenstown Lakes area.
