Southern Kermadec Quake

Another moderately strong earthquake struck the Kermadec Islands late today. The latest event occurred in the southern part of the Kermadec group, 700 km north-east of Auckland, 425 km south of Raoul Island.

The magnitude 5.2 earthquake which struck at 9:09 p.m. on Wednesday 21st November 2007 was located 165 km south of L’Esperance Rock in the Kermadecs at a depth of 54 km.
