Quake Claims Pass $3 Million

Claims from the Dusky Sound earthquake of July 15th have passed three million dollars.

Claims for damage caused by the magnitude 7.6 earthquake in Dusky Sound now total $3,175,125 according to disaster insurer, EQC. A total of 1741 claims have been lodged with EQC, with 602 claims totalling $1,227,375 having come from Invercargill. 236 claims for $371,750 have been lodged for damage in Dunedin and another 302 claims totalling $542, 625 have come from other parts of Southland.
